August! Ahh!!

August is finally here holy cow!! I'm officially freaking out! We started off with a bang! We saved up some house sitting money and went on a "stay-cation"! We went to the Talking Stick Resort for a weekend getaway. The whole week before, I made Corey watch all of the Harry Potter's so that we could go see the last one. My parents kept Jax on Friday and we went and got pedicures, ate dinner and saw Harry Potter! Sat we picked up Jax and did some shopping at Scottsdale mall. Corey surprised me and bought me the Fossil watch I have been eyeing!!! He was so sneaky, I had no idea!! On Sunday we woke up early and made it down for the Sunday brunch they have there. Wow it was the most amazing thing our eyes have ever feasted upon!! Every kind of food and dessert you could think of! It was so worth the expense! It was definitely nice to have some alone time before school starts.

Jax had his 6 month appointment and it was quite traumatizing! Not only did he have to get shots but he had adhesion's on his circumcision that the doctor had to break. He was not a happy camper, and I felt so bad! He finally settled down from that and then the nurse came in to do the shots! Lets just say that was his least favorite day on earth so far! The last week that we were supposed to watch Sydney, she got sick :( so sad! And then I got it, so we didn't get to watch her at all. It spared me from having a sad last day but in return I was sad all week! I just have to keep telling myself that I will see her often and that it is not goodbye! I love that little girl and it has been quite an adjustment not being with her all week.

I am down to days on my countdown for Nursing School. I never thought I would actually get to this point! The coolest part is, I am so calm about the whole thing. I feel like this is Heavenly Fathers way of telling me I am doing the right thing. Its almost like he won't let me get nervous. I try, but the feelings just don't come! I told Corey if I can just get past the first two weeks then I will be fine! I just need to get adjusted and get into a rhythm. I just hope that I can have the desire and discipline to get things done. I am so so grateful for my mom. I couldn't go to school without knowing that Jax would be taken care of. I can't think of anyone greater for the job! She is a true blessing. Corey has officially applied for Physical Therapy school. It is now just a waiting game. We should find out in September if he got accepted, denied, or put into the normal pool of applicants. He has worked so hard the past few years. We are so proud him and grateful for all that he has done for our family.

Jaxsen is doing great! We started him on yellow veggies this month! He was a little hesitant at first but he loves it now! We finally got rid of the 4 am feeding and moved him to his crib! I had a harder time with the transition than he did! It only took one night of waking up at 4 and spending about an hour to get him back to sleep. He has slept right through since! He'll wake up around 8:30 and come in and snuggle with mom and dad! He loves his crib and had no issues sleeping in a different room! I have adjusted, but it took me a couple of days lol! He is still on the verge of crawling! But he definitely has no mobility issues! He can get to the other side of the room in a matter of seconds! He is getting so big! He has rolls everywhere and is not lacking in the nutrition department! He does the cutest little self soothing thing now! He runs his fingers through his hair. The second you stick a bottle or binky in his mouth, his hand goes straight for the hair! It is the cutest thing ever! I'm sure it will result in bald spots, but what can ya do lol!! Well wish us luck over the next month! We've got big things to tackle, but with the Lord all things are possible!!

July

So this is basically the first month that I am actually writing in real time! I am seriously loving being a mom so much! Jax is the sweetest thing ever. I always loved kids and knew I would love being a mom but I seriously had no idea that it would be this amazing! He fills such a large void in our family that we never knew was there! Corey is the best dad ever. It is so cute to see the two of them together. He hates that he can't see him much but we have a four week break now so now we're going to make up for lost time!

Its so fun to see Jax transitioning from a newborn to an infant! He is getting so big! He is 17 pounds and almost 26 inches long! He is starting to learn how to crawl! He will get on all fours and rock back and forth. He starts planking too which is hilarious! He is scooting all over the place now and I'm sure it won't be too much longer until he starts full on crawling. Still no teeth for mister Sax but he drools like crazy! We had some fun in July, Grandma Carol was able to come down and spend some time with everyone! We hung out and had a blast! We went bowling and Daddy was great, Mommy... well not so much! But i'm working on it! My camera was dead the whole month of July so the only pics I have are from my phone. Bare with me they aren't the highest quality! Still having a blast with Sydney! She will set up little tea party's for her and Jax and is learning how to share her toys with him! I'm just trying to soak up as much time as possible with her before I start school. We are totally enjoying Corey's break from school. I am loving my calling in Young Women's and Corey is adjusting to teaching Elders Quorum quite well! He is finishing up is PT application and can't wait to find out if he gets into AT Still. We can't believe that our little boy is turning 6 months old this month! Holy cow how time flies! Here's to the next 6 months!

JUNE!

June 1st Jaxsen had his 4 month check up! It went great minus the shots. He liked the shots just about as much as he did the first time! He gave me the same how could you do this to me look as he did before! It was definitely a tear jerker but we got through it! He is seriously getting so big I cant even believe it! He is 16. pounds and is still in the higher percentiles for height. Confusing I know!! June is the beginning of everything my son sees ending up in his mouth!! The kid drools like he is teething but not even the slightest hint of a tooth has shown through! The first week of June was a huge milestone for Jax. He figured out how to get his big toe in his mouth! I know I know, what a huge development!! I am driving in the car and all of a sudden the binky drops and I hear the slirping of the toe! He loves it. Towards the middle of June he started scooting. Only a couple of days and he was moving around everywhere! He is no longer allowed to be left alone! He rolls over like crazy and scooches his way all around Sydney's play room! June 30th we had our first bowl of rice cereal! The kid is a porker and will eat whatever enters his mouth! He would start screaming the second I went to get more until the spoon was back in his mouth! He's pretty fisty and knows exactly what he wants. Uh oh! I thought I had at least a few more months of a nice no fit throwing baby. Oh how I was wrong!

We are still having so much fun with Sydney! She loves playing with Jax and teaching him how to use certain toys. Of course he just sucks on them but eventually Im sure he'll realize how they work! We really are going to miss her so much when I start school. I am just trying to spend as much time with both of them before I start! My mom is so excited to take Jax in August! I can't wait to start Nursing school. I am still waiting for my nursing info packet to come but patience is key! Corey has a crazy summer semester. He is taking 5 classes (17 credits) over an 8 week period. So basically no husband :( so sad! But it will be totally worth it. This is his last really tough semester. The next two shouldn't be too stressful. He starts applying next month for therapy school and we couldnt be more thrilled!

Here are some fun pics from June!!!

May ♥

Baseball, baseball, baseball!!! So anyone that knows us, knows that Jax was practically born on the baseball field! Our first outing with him was to Collins first game, not church lol! oops! So to say that he was the PerryPuma's Baseball mascot is an understatement ;) He was decked out in Puma gear (perfect colors and eveything, thanks to Ross) at every game! It was seriously so much fun! The boys through hard work made it to the playoffs and this little mascot followed them all the way to Yuma to cheer them on! Turns out he was quite the good luck charm! They ended up making it to the championship game! We were so proud of Collin! He did so well! Corey even made it to a few games which was awesome! It was so fun to be together as a family and make fun memories!

Our next fun adventure of may was our trip to Utah! Jax did so well the 12 hour ride up and back! Hayli was very helpful as we had to shake his stupid rattle toys in front of his face forever until he fell asleep! We have no idea why but it worked lol! We went up for Jordan's homecoming and it was so fun to see him and how much he has grown. I am seriously so proud of him and can't wait for him to experience getting married and having cute kiddos! One day we will live in the same state again and it will be a blast! It was so good to see the whole family! Jax got to meet his Great Grandma and Grandpa Braitwaite! We haven't seen them since before I was pregnant, so it was a nice little reunion.  Jax also got to meet his Great Grandma Gordoun for the first time and it was so cute to see the two of them together! I just love Corey's Grandma so much, she is so happy and full of life, its infectious! It was way too short of a trip though so we're hoping to go again for a longer period of time.

Corey got to enjoy a short break from school so we had a couple weeks of fun family time but not nearly enough! The best part of May was Jax's first laugh!!! Wow is that not the most amazing sound in the world or what! I was changing him on the changing table and started tickling his tummy and he just started busting up! I had corey run in and start filming but of course he pressed the power button instead of the record button so the whole thing got deleted! Heaven forbid he laugh again! I had to wait a couple more weeks to get another one! Braden got him cracking up and we did get this one on film so I'll post it! Braden was the only person for a while that could get Jax to laugh on que! He is so stingy with those laughs! At the end of May Jax finally rolled over from back to front! Now its just a waiting game for the consistency!

Here are some fun pictures from May!
